Comcast vs. Direct TV
Hi all, New resident to the building. What is the consensus of Direct TV vs. Comcast? Do you have internet through Direct TV or Comcast?
Thanks, Arvin (406)
Hi,
I am a new resident to the building and am wondering if there are any more updates on this... I am debating between Verizon internet and Direct TV cable versus Comcast internet and cable.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Update on this:
A recent article in the Washington Post states that:
The District and Verizon Communications have reached an agreement that would bring the company's Fios service to the city... a process that could be completed "by the end of this year."
Keep your fingers crossed!
Arvin:
DirecTV does not offer internet access. You can buy a package plan, i.e. DSL, phone and satellite TV through Verizon and they will subcontract the satellite TV to DirecTV.
However, Verizon DSL is very poor in our neighborhood. They obviously have very outdated circuits in our central office and therefore the fastest speed is only 1.5 Mbits/second which is dismal. Comcast offers up to 8 Mbits/second.
It is obvious that Verizon is neglecting DC, with no FiOS buildout and no further investment in their copper network:
